The mentorship series “Tea Parties for Social Change” seeks to empower and activate girls to be young ladies who contribute to society with kindness and productivity.
Originally from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, she moved to Florida in 1998. After suffering the loss of a daughter and a painful divorce she decided to reinvent herself as a woman who would learn and grow from personal tragedy instead of wallowing in despair.
She has written a memoir of her life experiences entitled From Pain, A Carved Out Life. It chronicles her pain after her daughter’s passing, her attempts at dealing with it in her own way, and her realization that only through faith in God could she find strength and hope.
Today she is a middle school Language Arts and Reading teacher, with more than 20 years of teaching experience under her belt, who enjoys travel as much as teaching. She has dedicated her life to working with young ladies. She believes that if we improve our women we can ultimately improve our society.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
