Hillsborough County School District sent an email out to staff to clear up any “confusion” of the foaming hand sanitizer purchased by the district.
It has been brought to our attention that there may be confusion regarding the safety of using our gallon jugs of hand sanitizer. Please see note below ~
Simple Hygiene Foam Hand Sanitizer is approved for use in HCPS with the following restrictions,
• must be stored in an air conditioned environment
• must be stored away from any spark source or flame

Please share this with your staff. If you have any questions, please let Chris Farkas (or me) know. Many Thanks ~

The district failed to identify the remaining risks listed the SDS report archived on August 24, 2020. On page 6, this product is identified to have a possible reproductive hazard.
Here’s a link to the receipt: http://fullercommercial.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/SHP30754-Foaming-Alcohol-Hand-Sanitizer.pdf
The product also contains DEA-C8-18 Perfluoroalkylethyl Phosphate that has high contamination concerns. Here’s the link to research this toxic ingredient:

After receiving the screenshot from a surveillance camera in the district, I immediately went to the website to review the SDS again. To my surprise, the SDS report was modified and it had a completely different permalink. Using the tool Draftable, I was able to easily detect all changes in both of these documents. Here’s the results: https://draftable.com/compare/YajgJtWBoUUL
I noticed that nothing changed on the SDS but the risks associated with using the product. The timing is odd and people should start asking questions.
• Was there any testing done to substantiate the new results?
• Why didn’t the issue date change when this document was modified after August 25, 2020?
• Who will be held accountable in the district that purchased this product and failed to advise the hazards involved? I guess they forgot that the items were purchased prior to the new SDS.
I reached out to Fuller Commercial and left a voicemail to a representative. I would ask Hillsborough County Public Schools for a comment, but they were untruthful during our most recent requests. I did a records request! People lie. Receipts don’t!
